Speakers at Bagh University Explore Complexities of Kashmir Conflict

Karachi: A conference at Women’s University in Bagh, AJK, convened experts to discuss the multifaceted issues surrounding the Kashmir conflict, highlighting historical and current challenges.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the event was orchestrated by the Institute of Dialogue, Development, and Diplomatic Studies in partnership with the Center for Integrated Social Sciences Research and Analysis under the theme “Indian Military Invasion, Aggression, and Illegal Occupation.” The discussions were enriched with insights from academia and seasoned analysts.

Prof. Dr. Hameed Peerzada, Vice-Chancellor of Women’s University Bagh, inaugurated the conference emphasizing the broader implications of the Kashmir issue that affect the lives of 12 million people, emphasizing the need for peace and stability. Dr. Waleed Rasool, Director of IDDDs and the keynote speaker, outlined India’s strategic political actions since 1947, critically analyzing the motives behind the military presence in the region.

Mr. Zaffar Iqbal, Additional Registrar, spoke about the importance of understanding India’s diplomatic strategies to bypass arbitration and international mediation, highlighting the enduring efforts needed to progress Kashmir’s goals. Dr. Shahid, Head of the International Relations Department, underscored the critical role of youth in advancing the Kashmiri cause and staying engaged with global affairs.

The conference ended with an awards ceremony, distributing shields and certificates to distinguished scholars for their contributions to the discussion on Kashmir.
