Islamabad: In a meeting at the Parliament House, Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for Palestine, condemning the Israeli military actions in Gaza as severe human rights violations. The meeting, attended by the Ambassador of Palestine to Pakistan, Dr. Zaher Zaid, highlighted the humanitarian crisis resulting from ongoing violence, which has claimed over 50,000 lives.
Speaker Sadiq described the situation as a humanitarian catastrophe and criticized the global community’s response, particularly in light of the continued violence against children. He expressed concern over Israel’s blockade of humanitarian aid to Gaza, labeling the use of food as a weapon as unacceptable.
He affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause both morally and diplomatically, emphasizing the need for international intervention. Additionally, Sadiq condemned Israel’s attack on Iran, viewing it as a breach of international law. He welcomed the recent ceasefire between Iran and Israel, underscoring the global need for peace.
Sadiq also addressed the recent escalation involving India and Israel, asserting Pakistan’s firm stance against aggression and reiterating Pakistan’s non-recognition of Israel as a state.
Ambassador Zaid expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s unwavering support, acknowledging the solidarity shown by the Pakistani people. He urged for continued international pressure to halt Israeli actions and called for increased humanitarian aid to Palestine.
The meeting underscored the ongoing need for diplomatic efforts to address the humanitarian issues in Gaza and the broader Middle East region.
