Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Calls for Prompt Completion of Parliament Lodges Project

ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has called for the swift completion of 104 family suites intended for parliamentarians, emphasizing the necessity of transparency and prudent use of public funds in the project. In a meeting held today to oversee the construction efforts in Parliament House, Sadiq highlighted the collective responsibility of ensuring optimal use of national resources and urged all relevant departments to prevent further delays.

Sadiq addressed the critical shortage of official residences for Senators and Members of the National Assembly, noting that the new family suites would alleviate housing pressures. He underscored the importance of timely project completion to ease difficulties faced by parliamentarians due to inadequate accommodation options.

The Speaker expressed concern over ongoing project delays, which have inflated costs and potentially weakened public trust in development projects. He directed authorities to address and eliminate administrative and technical obstacles impeding the project’s progress.

Maintaining high construction standards, including proper ventilation and essential facilities, was a priority for Sadiq, who insisted on no compromises regarding quality, safety, or transparency at any stage. Deputy Speaker National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah joined Sadiq at the meeting.

Senior officers from the Capital Development Authority, the Senate Secretariat, and the National Assembly Secretariat participated in reviewing the project’s progress and strategizing to expedite completion in alignment with Sadiq’s directives.
