Islamabad: Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, extended greetings to African nations on Africa Day, recognizing the significance of the occasion as it marks the founding of the Organization of African Unity, now known as the African Union. In his message, he highlighted the progress and aspirations of the African continent.
Sadiq emphasized that the ties between Pakistan and African countries are built on mutual respect, shared values, and cooperation within multilateral forums. He noted the importance of enhancing inter-parliamentary dialogue and collaboration for sustainable development.
“Africa Day offers an opportunity to recognize the achievements of African countries and reaffirm our commitment to enhanced engagement and mutual respect,” Sadiq stated. He emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to fostering partnerships that promote development, peace, and prosperity.
Referring to Pakistan’s “Look Africa” and “Engage Africa” policies, Sadiq reiterated the National Assembly’s support for initiatives aimed at collaboration in trade, education, health, and climate change.
He acknowledged the African Union’s efforts in promoting regional cooperation and praised African nations for their contributions to global peace and stability.
