Speaker Ayaz Sadiq Convenes Business Advisory Committee Meeting Ahead of Crucial Budget Deliberations


Islamabad: The Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, has called a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee on June 10, 2025, in the Parliament House. The meeting aims to set the agenda for the 17th Session of the National Assembly, focusing on the 2025-26 federal budget.



The committee will strategize on how to conduct the forthcoming Budget Session, including setting the duration for debates on the federal budget and related parliamentary matters. This session is pivotal as it will address key fiscal policies and allocations for the upcoming year.



Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah is also slated to attend the meeting, highlighting the importance of the session. Various federal ministers, including Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar and Rana Tanveer Hussain, have been invited to provide their input.



From the Treasury benches, several Members of the National Assembly, such as Sheikh Aftab Ahmed and Ms. Nuzhat Sadiq, are expected to participate. The meeting will also include opposition figures like Mr. Asad Qaiser and Ms. Zartaj Gul, ensuring a comprehensive discussion across party lines.



Additional members, including Mr. Noor Alam Khan and Mr. Ejazul Haq, have been invited, emphasizing the inclusive nature of the preparation for the budget session. The Business Advisory Committee’s discussions will play a crucial role in shaping the legislative agenda for the fiscal year.
