Islamabad, Speaker of the National Assembly, Raja Pervez Ashraf, underscored the significance of Kashmir, terming it “the aorta of Pakistan,” in a statement issued regarding the 76th foundation day of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the region’s historical relevance, noting its establishment on October 24, 1947, and its continued celebration with traditional enthusiasm. The Speaker further drew attention to India’s commitment under the United Nations Security Council resolutions, emphasizing the ongoing struggle for the freedom of the illegally occupied regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a news release by National Assembly of Pakistan, the Speaker commemorated the 76th foundation day of Azad Jammu and Kashmir by paying homage to the martyrs and heroes of the region. Reflecting on their immense sacrifices, Raja Pervez Ashraf emphasized that their contributions will always be remembered and revered. Looking back at the last 76 years, he remarked on the significant advancements Azad Kashmir has achieved in numerous sectors and its pivotal role in establishing a democratic framework.
