Sopore woman’s body fished out from Jhelum River after 20 days

Srinagar, May 13, 2023 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a body of a woman, who had drowned in the Jhelum River in the Dokalbal Sopore area of North Kashmir on April 22 this year, was fished out after around 20 days. An official told media that the woman had drowned in the Jhelum River at Dokalbal in Sopore on April 22.

He said that efforts were made to retrieve her body shortly after the incident, but all in vain as authorities failed to retrieve the body. The official said that her body was retrieved by the local people of Baramulla, today, following which the body was taken to Govt Medical College, Baramulla. After completion of all formalities, the body will be handed over to the family for the last rites, he added.
