Sopore transporters go on indefinite strike 

Srinagar, November 16, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, transporters including taxi unions in Sopore town of Baramulla district have started an indefinite strike against authorities’ move of accommodating illegal taxis in general bus stand in the town. The transporters assembled at general bus stand of the town to protest against the administration’s move. The protesting transporters stated that the move will affect them and demanded that the order be revoked immediately in the interest of transporters and public at large.

The Chairman of the minibus owners, Sajad Ahmed, said it was unanimously decided in a meeting that all the transport vehicles will remain off the roads from today till the demand is met. Meanwhile, teachers also staged a protest demonstration at Press Colony in Srinagar in support of their demands. The demonstration was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Teachers’ Forum. The protesting teachers were holding placards with slogans written in favor of their demands.
