Sonia Gandhi appears before ED for questioning in National Herald case

New Delhi, July 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in New Delhi for her questioning in the National Herald money laundering case. Sonia Gandhi, 75, arrived at the ED headquarters located at Vidyut Lane flanking APJ Abdul Kalam Road in central Delhi a little after noon escorted by her CRPF security cover. Sonai Gandhi, who was diagnosed with Covid recently, was seen wearing a mask and was accompanied by her children Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi.

The questioning began after completion of some formalities like verification of summons and signature in the attendance sheet, sources said. She has been allowed to leave on her request made on medical grounds. The probe relates to financial irregularities in the Congress-promoted Young Indian Private Limited, which owns the National Herald newspaper.
