Islamabad, September 01, 2021 (PPI-OT): President Dr Arif Alvi says society cannot make ample progress without participation of women in business sector. Addressing the Islamabad Chambers of Commerce and Industry Business Excellence Award ceremony in Islamabad on Wednesday evening, he called for women empowerment through inclusive social and economic policies.
The President said Islam has emphasized on demonstrating honesty in trading matters, which is the hallmark of the integrity of a successful business community. He also congratulated the business leaders for winning this year’s award. The President said corruption is an impediment in progress and it negatively impacts in the reputation of community as well.
He said government is taking steps for creating new avenues of opportunities for the business community of the country. He said despite covid-19, Pakistan performed well in strengthening economy and controlling the pandemic. Earlier, the President distributed awards among best performing businessmen.
