New Delhi, November 23, 2021 (PPI-OT):The human rights defenders have demanded the release of student leader Meeran Haider along with other anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) activists in India. Meeran Haider completed 600 days of incarceration in Indian jail. Activists of United against Hate (UAH), Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) and All India Students Association (AISA) have launched a fresh campaign for his release to mark 600 days of his unjust imprisonment.
Haider was arrested on charges of instigating Delhi riots. Critics, however, believe that he is being punished for being part of protestors who were opposed to Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) while human rights defenders have been demanding his release along with other anti-CAA activists.
