Lahore, March 30, 2023 (PPI-OT): A meeting was held today in the Chief Minister’s office under the chairmanship of caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi. In the meeting, it was decided to open the free flour centers at 6 am for the convenience of the citizens and to reduce the rush in Punjab and the flour distribution centers across the province will open at 6 am from tomorrow.
Mohsin Naqvi said that the provincial ministers and secretaries will perform duties in the assigned districts for the next 3 days. Provincial ministers and secretaries will visit flour centers and assess the situation themselves, while DPOs and deputy commissioners will also be present at the centers in the morning.
Mohsen Naqvi directed to deploy additional police force at flour centers. Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, while expressing his indignation at the incidents of violence and disorder at flour centers in Sahiwal and some other cities, directed that the citizens visiting the centers should be better managed. He said that citizens should be properly guided at the centers and queuing Make announcements.
During the briefing, the Chief Minister was told that so far around 1.32 lakh bags of flour have been distributed to the citizens across Punjab, while more than 2.1 lakh bags of flour have been provided to the citizens since morning till today and less time today. Most flour bags have been distributed. Chief Secretary Punjab, Inspector General Police Punjab, Secretary Food and Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board attended the meeting.
