Islamabad: A significant crackdown by the Islamabad Police has led to the arrest of a wanted absconder involved in multiple snatching incidents, with the recovery of stolen mobile phones, a motorbike, and a weapon, as stated by a public relations officer.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation was aligned with the special directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who initiated a stringent action against criminals to safeguard the lives and properties of citizens. In response to these orders, the Karachi Company police station team utilized both technical and human resources to successfully apprehend the culprit named Ali Raza.
The police also retrieved a mobile phone, a motorbike, and the weapon used in the crimes from Raza’s possession. He has confessed his involvement in numerous snatching offenses within the jurisdiction of Islamabad during the preliminary investigation. Cases against him had been registered prior to his arrest, and further inquiries are in progress.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police lauded the efforts of the team and issued directives to all senior officials to intensify the crackdown on individuals involved in car and bike lifting incidents. He emphasized that the performance of the police officials would be continuously reviewed to ensure effectiveness in curbing such criminal activities.
