Nankana, February 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):The main ceremony to commemorate the 101st anniversary of Saka Nankana in the memory of 260 followers of the Sikh religion was held at Guru’s birthplace, Nankana, today. On the first day of the Sikh festival, Sikh community placed flowers and lit candles in the memory of renowned Sikh artist and youth leader Sardar Deep Singh Sidhu from Indian Punjab in the Gurdwara Janam Asthan, Nankana. He was killed by Indian secret agencies.
Punjabi Sikh Sangat Chairman Sardar Gopal Singh Chawla on the occasion said that Deep Singh was a shining star of the Sikh nation. He was killed in a staged traffic accident, he added. Apart from Pakistani Sikh citizens, the event is being attended by Sikh pilgrims from India, UK, Canada, France, Malaysia, USA and other countries. More than 20,000 Sikh pilgrims from home and abroad are attending the main event.
