Situation in Islamabad Stabilizes After Clearance of PTI Protesters

Islamabad: The situation in Islamabad has stabilized following the clearance of D-Chowk and adjacent areas, which had been occupied by PTI protesters. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the area to meet law enforcement personnel and commend their efforts.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Naqvi expressed his appreciation for the Rangers, Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh Police, FC, and the Pakistan Army for their role in restoring order. He assessed the damage to buildings and infrastructure and instructed the Capital Development Authority to clean the roads and remove blockages. Naqvi stated that the conspiracy to sow discord was thwarted and called it a victory for the people of Pakistan.

Security sources reported that Bushra Bibi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur fled the D-Chowk area. They also confirmed that no firearms were used during the police and rangers operation in the capital and dismissed social media reports of protestors’ deaths as false propaganda.
