Islamabad: At a seminar held in Islamabad’s Kashmir House, Sirajul Haq, the former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, articulated the unwavering support of Pakistanis for the Kashmiri people, emphasizing that their hearts are aligned with the Kashmiris’ struggle. The event, organized to mark the death anniversary of Syed Ali Gilani, a prominent Kashmiri freedom movement leader, highlighted the enduring bond and shared aspirations between the people of Pakistan and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Sirajul Haq delivered a heartfelt tribute to Syed Ali Gilani, recognizing him as a steadfast symbol of the freedom struggle against Indian occupation and an advocate for the completion of Pakistan. During his speech, Haq described Gilani’s uncompromising stance and dedication to the principles of equality and justice, regardless of color or race. Gilani, remembered as a teacher, politician, and preacher, consistently voiced the slogan “We are Pakistanis, Pakistan is ours,” encapsulating his vision for a united and robust Pakistan.
The seminar also featured speeches from numerous dignitaries, including Rana Qasim Noon, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, and Raja Zafarul Haq, a veteran political leader. Noon echoed Haq’s sentiments by saluting Gilani’s significant contributions and sacrifices for the Kashmiri freedom movement. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s ongoing support for the Kashmiri cause on political, diplomatic, and moral fronts, underscoring the integral role of Kashmir in Pakistani national identity.
Other notable speakers, such as Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, and Senator Sahar Kamran, also paid homage to Gilani’s legacy and vowed to persist in the struggle for freedom that he championed throughout his life.
