Singapore Hosts Solemn Ceremony to Mark Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day


Singapore: The Pakistan High Commission in Singapore conducted a flag hoisting ceremony at Pakistan House today, commemorating the 77th Independence Day of Pakistan with traditional solemnity and national pride.



According to Press Information Department, the ceremony was initiated with the recitation of the Holy Quran and featured the hoisting of the national flag by High Commissioner Ms. Rabia Shafiq, accompanied by the national anthem. Key messages from Pakistan’s President and Prime Minister were conveyed by Press Counsellor Mr. Athar Zeb Abbasi and Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Salman Mahmood, highlighting the enduring legacy of Pakistan’s founders and the nation’s ongoing challenges.



In her address, High Commissioner Shafiq paid tribute to the leaders of the Pakistan movement and acknowledged the contributions of the Pakistani diaspora to the nation’s development. She expressed confidence in the resilience of the Pakistani people amidst current economic difficulties and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination. The event concluded with prayers for Pakistan’s continued peace and prosperity, along with a special remembrance for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ and K).
