Sindh Public Service Commission Announces Schedule for Departmental Examinations

Hyderabad: The Sindh Public Service Commission has announced that the upcoming Departmental Examinations for the session of October 2024 will take place in November 2024 at its Head Office on Thandi Sarak, Hyderabad. The exams will cover various positions across different departments, including roles within the Jail Department and the Board of Revenue, Sindh.

According to Public Service Commission Sindh, the examinations slated for November will include tests for Assistant Collectors Part-I and II, Forest Officer, Sub-Registrar in the Registration Wing of the Board of Revenue, Sub-Ordinate Accounts Service (S.A.S) Part- I and II, and several positions in the Jail Department such as Superintendent Jail (BPS-18), Deputy Superintendent Jail (BPS-17), Assistant Superintendent Jail (BPS-16), and Administrative Officer. Additionally, the Sub-Ordinate Treasury Accounts Service will also be conducting exams for Accountants and Accounts Clerks.

The examinations will adhere to the syllabus and rules outlined in the Sindh Civil Servants (Departmental Examinations) Rules of 1978, read in conjunction with the Standing Orders of the Board of Revenue, Sindh, and the Sindh Public Service Commission (Functions) Rules of 2022. Candidates are required to submit their applications through their appointing authority along with a challan for Rs 500, which must be paid under the specified Head of Account. The application, endorsed by the Competent Authority, must reach the Sindh Public Service Commission’s Head Office by October 25, 2024.

Furthermore, if an examination includes two parts, a separate fee of Rs 500 is required for each part. Candidates must obtain special permission to appear in both parts of the examination simultaneously. It is also mandatory to indicate the number of previous attempts and their results in the application; failure to do so will result in the rejection of the application.

Candidates unable to attend the examination for any reason must inform the Additional Controller of Examinations at least seven days before the exams commence. The commission has stressed that applications received after the closing date of October 25, 2024, will not be entertained under any circumstances.
