Karachi: In a significant move to streamline investigative processes, the Sindh Police, under the leadership of IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, will introduce an electronic expense card to manage costs associated with criminal investigations and reforms of the Mizal 15 system.
According to Sindh Police, the new system was discussed in a comprehensive review meeting held at the Central Police Office in Karachi, attended by various DIGs, SPs, and other high-ranking officials. The meeting centered on the technological advancements necessary for the upgradation of Assistant 15—a key component in police response systems—and the efficient handling of investigation expenses via a digital wallet.
The initiative, pending approval from the Government of Sindh and consultations with private banks, aims to facilitate quicker and easier transactions for the expenses incurred during investigations. A dedicated app has also been developed to further ease the delivery of funds for case-related expenditures.
Additionally, the police force is set to enhance their patrol capabilities with the provision of 120 new motorcycles, aimed at boosting the effectiveness of police presence on the streets and highways, thus reducing street crime.
This modernization effort includes drafting proposals for the training of investigation officers to ensure they are adept at using the new technology. These developments signify a robust effort by Sindh Police to upgrade their operational effectiveness and responsiveness in handling crime across the region.
