Sindh Police Promotes 26 DSPs to Superintendent Rank in Karachi

Karachi, In a significant move for law enforcement in the region, the Sindh Police Department announced the promotion of 26 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP), elevating them from Grade 17 to 18. This development, marked by a ceremony at the Central Police Office in Karachi, signifies a step forward in acknowledging the dedication and service of the officers.

According to Sindh Police, the promotions were formalized through a notification after the candidates underwent formal approval and verification processes. The ceremony was described as simple yet dignified, where the newly promoted SPs were adorned with their new ranks/badges by Sindh government officials. The event saw the presence of dignitaries including the Sindh Interior Minister, who underscored the promotion as not only a recognition of the officers’ past efforts but also as a call to greater responsibility and service towards the community.

The Interior Minister highlighted the essence of service and humanity in police work, stating that an officer’s popularity and reputation are directly linked to their service to the people. Furthermore, the Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police addressed the promoted officers, emphasizing that their experience and their contributions towards operational and investigative efforts against crime were pivotal for their promotions. He acknowledged their dedication, positive efforts, and struggles, which have been instrumental in their achievements within the department.
