Karachi, The Sindh Police Hospital in the Garden area is set to receive a significant upgrade with the introduction of modern operation theaters and testing laboratory facilities. This development was announced by IG Sindh Rifat Mukhtar Raja in a recent meeting focused on enhancing the hospital’s capabilities.

According to Sindh Police, the meeting, held under the leadership of IG Sindh Rafat Mukhtar Raja, discussed the construction of the Sindh Police Hospital Garden Karachi on modern lines and equipping it with state-of-the-art facilities. AIG Welfare and MS Police Hospital Garden provided a comprehensive briefing on the proposed improvements.

IG Sindh emphasized the urgency of implementing these upgrades to offer better health facilities to police employees and their families, while also aiming to reduce the economic burden on them. He highlighted the importance of clean drinking water and instructed the installation of RO plants in the Police Hospital, Garden Society South, and RRF.

A key focus of the meeting was on the professional ethics of the medical staff. IG Sindh stressed the need for a regular mechanism to evaluate the performance of doctors and paramedical staff, ensuring they provide medical services with good manners, behavior, and a positive attitude. Feedback from patients, their families, and inpatient visitors will play a crucial role in this evaluation process.

The meeting also addressed the centralization of all Sindh police hospitals under the Health Official Management System. This initiative aims to ensure the efficient registration of drugs, diagnoses, and medical tests. The Director of IT informed IG Sindh that the application for this system is nearing completion, with 80% of the work already done.

Further, IG Sindh directed the initiation of a shuttle bus service from police residential colonies/areas/lines to the Police Hospital Garden twice daily. He also ordered that ambulances be maintained in a ready-to-use condition.

DIG Traffic Iqbal Dara reported at the meeting that CCTV cameras at the police hospital have been repaired and are now functional, and cleaning efforts around the hospital are ongoing daily.

The meeting saw the attendance of key figures including the Additional IG Finance and Welfare, DIG Headquarters, Finance and Welfare Branch, AIGs of Finance, Project Director IT, MS, and Additional MS Police Hospital.

This modernization of the Sindh Police Hospital represents a significant step towards improving healthcare services for police personnel and their families in Karachi.

The focus of the meeting was to ensure law and order in the lead-up to the upcoming elections.

According to Sindh Police, IG Sindh emphasized the full mobilization of all police departments, utilizing all available resources until the elections are held. The responsibility of protecting citizens and candidates was underscored, with a directive to strictly adhere to the election code of conduct. Any violations of this code are to be promptly reported to the relevant election commission offices.

IG Sindh stressed the importance of proactive community engagement by senior police officers. This involves organizing meetings with local dignitaries, well-known personalities, and patrolling streets, markets, neighborhoods, and shopping centers to enhance public security and confidence. The objective is to alleviate any fear and sense of deprivation among the public.

The meeting also addressed the necessity of taking effective measures at the district level to prevent murders and other serious crimes. Special attention was called to unsolved or uncertain motive murders, urging proactive strategies to counteract them. Additionally, IG Sindh directed a close watch on dismissed and suspended police officers and officials to prevent any untoward incidents.

To ensure robust legal proceedings against criminals involved in severe crimes such as murder and extortion, IG Sindh called for strengthening the prosecution process. He highlighted the need for interlinked measures to ensure that the accused receive exemplary sentences from the courts.

The meeting was attended by various high-ranking officials, including Zonal DIsGP of Karachi, heads of the CIA, CTD, Special Branch, SSP SIU/CIA, as well as AIsGP Admin and Operations Sindh.

This meeting marks a significant step in the Sindh Police’s efforts to maintain peace and stability in Karachi and the wider province, especially in the context of the forthcoming elections.
