Sindh Police Announces Promotions for Hundreds of Officers Following Departmental Review

Karachi, The Sindh Police, under the direction of IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, has recently advanced the careers of numerous officers within the executive cadre, following a comprehensive review by the Departmental Promotion Committee. The meeting, which took place on April 26 and 27, resulted in promotions to the rank of Inspector for 294 senior sub-inspectors.

According to Sindh Police, the Departmental Promotion Committee, led by Additional IG Establishment and including DIGP Establishment, AIGP Establishment I, AIGP Legal, and AIGP Establishment II, has finalized the names of officers eligible for promotion. This list includes both male and female sub-inspectors, who have now been promoted to Grade 16.

Out of 414 officers considered for promotion, 247 successfully advanced to new posts, with 47 positions reserved for future vacancies spanning from April 2024 to July 2024. However, the report highlights some administrative challenges: 107 of the promoted cases have incomplete documentation, and seven officers are required to return to Sindh Police from other departments within 90 days.

Furthermore, the promotions included six retired sub-inspectors and were delayed for 104 officers due to incomplete documents among other reasons. Additionally, 10 officers were superseded and did not receive promotions in this cycle due to various factors considered by the committee.
