Karachi: In a significant move to address financial hurdles, Sindh’s Finance Sub-Committee of the Cabinet approved Rs.885 million for the KWSSIP Phase II project. The meeting, chaired by Sindh Energy Development and Planning Minister Syed Nisar Hussain Shah and attended by Interior, Law, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjhar, focused on the financial challenges of Sindh institutions and discussed potential solutions.
Minister Nisar Shah highlighted the solarization initiative for Cadet College Pitaro, costing Rs.25 crore, which aims to provide uninterrupted electricity for students’ education and training. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance learning environments across the province.
The ministers underscored the importance of swift action in line with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s vision and directives from the Chief Minister of Sindh. The finance sub-committee is tasked with expediting project completions and alleviating public grievances, ensuring decisions are made promptly after comprehensive reviews and consensus among members, while adhering to legal requirements.
Additionally, funds were approved for the Malir Water Supply Scheme and ongoing US AID programs, with a focus on their timely completion. The initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to advancing infrastructure projects and enhancing public welfare in Sindh.
