Karachi: In a significant announcement at Olympian Arshad Nadeem’s residence in Khanewal District’s Mian Chanu, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori appointed the gold medalist as the brand ambassador for the initiative ‘Karachi Mera Than’. During the visit, the governor praised Nadeem’s contributions to the nation’s prestige at the Olympics and revealed plans for over 60 sports competitions in Karachi come January.
According to Sindh Governor House, Governor Tesori commended Arshad Nadeem for his achievements, highlighting the athlete’s role in elevating Pakistan’s global stature. He confirmed that the national hero’s homecoming in Karachi was celebrated with enthusiasm and also announced funding for the completion of a village mosque at Nadeem’s request, reflecting the athlete’s influence in his community.
Further discussing national unity and development, Governor Tesori expressed gratitude towards the people of Mian Chanu for their hospitality. He touched upon broader political and security issues, mentioning external factors in Balochistan’s disturbances and vowing a strong response to any threats to national progress. The governor also noted the efforts of Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in advancing the province’s development.
