Sindh Governor Launches Plantation Campaign, Announces Grand Independence Day Celebrations

Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori initiated a major plantation campaign at the Governor House, marking the event with a ceremony attended by diplomats, academics, and celebrities. The campaign is part of broader efforts to combat global warming and promote environmental sustainability in the region.

According to Sindh Governor House, the launch saw the participation of various notable figures, including the Consul General of the United Arab Emirates, who pledged 1,000 trees to the initiative. During the ceremony, the Governor House also signed MoUs with FGRF and Unity Food Limited, reinforcing the commitment to environmental causes. Governor Tesori emphasized the collective responsibility towards building a greener Pakistan and mentioned that students should be actively involved in these efforts.

In addition to environmental initiatives, Governor Tesori announced plans for elaborate Independence Day celebrations at the Governor House on August 14. The festivities are set to include the cutting of an Independence Cake, a music night featuring artists Rahat Fateh Ali and Atif, and the distribution of 100,000 flags and 50,000 badges. Addressing other matters, the Governor responded to political concerns, inviting Jamaat-e-Islami for discussions rather than protests, promising hospitality and dialogue.
