Sindh Governor Launches Obstetric and Gynecology Oncology Society and Signs MoU with Pharma Company

Karachi, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesori inaugurated the Society of Obstetric and Gynecology Oncology (Sogo) at the Governor House, a new initiative aimed at enhancing the treatment of women’s cancers. The event also marked the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Sogo and a local pharmaceutical company.

According to Sindh Governor House, the new society will provide a platform for doctors to address challenges in their practice, particularly in the treatment of various cancers affecting women. The Governor emphasized the role of the Governor House as a supportive entity, stating that its doors are open to everyone and expressing his readiness to be an active member and supporter of Sogo’s initiatives.

Governor Tesori highlighted the need for innovative approaches in healthcare, jokingly suggesting the invention of an injection for politicians to help the country achieve its founding goals. He also addressed the limitations of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in providing healthcare, acknowledging that while they can assist thousands, they cannot reach everyone.

The Governor pointed out the urgent healthcare needs of Karachi, a city known as the economic hub and mini Pakistan, and the broader challenges faced by government hospitals across the country. He called for collaborative efforts in all fields to improve the healthcare system and overall well-being of the population.

The launch of Sogo and the partnership with a local pharma company represent significant steps towards improving healthcare for women in Sindh, particularly in the specialized field of obstetric and gynecology oncology.
