Sindh Governor Launches IT University and Announces Major Educational Initiatives

Karachi, In a significant development for the education sector in Sindh, Governor Kamran Khan Tesori announced the commencement of IT classes from February 6 at a newly established IT university in Karachi. During a press conference at the Governor House, Governor Tesori unveiled the state-of-the-art facility, sprawling over 24,000 square feet and equipped with more than 300 computer labs, washrooms, cafeterias, and dedicated power supply systems set up at a cost of Rs 25 million.

According to Sindh Governor House, the initiative is aimed at propelling Pakistan into the digital age, with the one-year IT course expected to generate millions of dollars for the country. Governor Tesori expressed optimism about the course’s potential to serve as a beacon of hope for the youth, including 450,000 children who could not pass the entrance test and will be offered online education. He emphasized the transformative power of IT education in generating employment and announced plans to extend the initiative across Sindh, predicting that IT classes will be a game-changer for the region.

Governor Tesori also disclosed that 10,000 applications have been received for motorcycles, with 1,700 bikes to be distributed in the first phase. He highlighted the success of public visits to the Governor House, with 14.5 million people having visited so far.

In addition to educational initiatives, Governor Tesori touched upon the Registration Amendment Ordinance Bill, which allows for online property registration, aiming to eliminate fraudulent transactions. He commended the Army Chief’s efforts towards economic stability and lauded the contributions of charitable organizations like Sailani Trust in providing food and employment to the needy.

Addressing the root causes of societal issues, Governor Tesori linked unemployment to law and order challenges and announced plans to revamp 1,000 schools in collaboration with Bashir Farooqi, founder of the Sailani Trust. He reassured the public about the completion of these projects despite skepticism and misinformation on social media.

Governor Tesori concluded by praising General Asim Munir’s vision for economic and national stability and foreshadowed significant investments post-elections through the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), which is implementing a one-window operation to streamline business processes in Sindh.
