Karachi, In a significant gesture, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori announced his personal initiative to fund Umrah and Hajj trips for citizens over 75 years of age who have not yet had the opportunity to visit the Holy Hijaz. This announcement came during his visit to the Sindh Government Hospital Liaquatabad and subsequent media interaction.

According to Sindh Governor House, Governor Tesori made this announcement while addressing the media after his visit to the hospital, where he was welcomed by Medical Superintendent Dr. Atiqur Rehman Qureshi. During his visit, the governor inquired about the available facilities from patients and attendants and expressed concerns about the need for improvements, comparing the situation to other major hospitals in Karachi.

Governor Tesori stressed the importance of health insurance for the common people in Sindh, noting that the province lags in providing this facility, which has been available throughout the country since 2016. He committed to playing a role in resolving the issues faced by the people of Sindh, regardless of any criticism.

The governor highlighted the lack of progress in hospital facilities since 1982 despite the construction of hundreds of plazas in Karachi. He called for a departure from political motivations in addressing healthcare needs and urged the caretaker health minister to visit hospitals to assess their conditions firsthand.

Furthermore, Governor Tesori invited the elderly community to form committees and approach him with complaints and needs, offering to provide ration and school fee support through the governor’s house. He pledged to bear all associated expenses personally, underscoring his commitment to the welfare of the people.

This initiative and the governor’s commitment to personally funding religious trips for the elderly, along with his involvement in addressing local healthcare and educational needs, mark a significant effort towards improving the quality of life for citizens in Sindh.
