Sindh Governor Inaugurates “Road to Makkah” Project, Introduces “Pak Hajj App” at Karachi Airport

Karachi, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori inaugurated the “Road to Makkah” project at Jinnah International Airport, introducing a new facility aimed at streamlining the Hajj pilgrimage process for Pakistani pilgrims.

According to Sindh Governor House, during the ceremony, Governor Tesori highlighted the government’s efforts to ensure well-prepared and cost-effective Hajj arrangements. He emphasized the introduction of the “Pak Hajj App,” a mobile application designed to provide pilgrims with comprehensive information and training materials on all aspects of the Hajj. The app also features a complaint registration function to assist pilgrims in resolving any issues they may encounter.

The Governor noted that this year, the immigration process for Hajj pilgrims has been significantly simplified with the implementation of onsite immigration services at Karachi Airport, eliminating the need for elderly pilgrims to approach traditional immigration counters. This initiative is a collaboration between Pakistani and Saudi authorities, reflecting the strong bilateral ties between the two nations.

Governor Tesori also mentioned that 35,500 pilgrims from Karachi would benefit from the “Road to Makkah” project this year. This facility allows pilgrims to complete necessary customs and immigration clearances at their departure point in Pakistan and receive their luggage directly at their accommodations in Saudi Arabia.

During his address, Governor Tesori expressed gratitude towards various officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony for their contributions to the Hajj arrangements. He concluded the ceremony by distributing gifts and garlands to the pilgrims.
