Karachi, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori announced the opening of the IT Complaint Cell at the Governor’s House, a platform enabling residents to register their concerns and grievances via a QR scan code from the comfort of their homes. Tesori spoke of the new system’s potential benefits during a media interaction, highlighting the ongoing efforts to increase accessibility for the general populace to the Governor’s Office.
Secretary to Governor Sindh reported that the initiative followed the Governor’s objective to simplify processes for the public. Over the past year, the Bell of Hope at the Governor’s House gate saw more than 100,000 visitors. The recently launched application connects individuals to nine government departments, facilitating the registration of complaints even through platforms like WhatsApp.
Since its inception, the IT cell, along with the staff of the Governor’s House, have worked tirelessly, addressing over 10,000 complaints, successfully resolving 4,500 of them. Moreover, the Governor’s House has distributed rations to more than 90,000 individuals in need.
Tesori also noted the Governor House’s increased accessibility, with its doors now open to the public. Additionally, a 24,000 square feet marquee is underway for IT course students, which includes amenities like washrooms, waiting areas, and a canteen. He emphasized that these efforts did not involve government funding but were geared towards aiding the community. While fulfilling these objectives, Tesori mentioned that the office navigated numerous political challenges, as the ultimate aim remained service without political interference.
On a separate note, Tesori expressed concerns regarding the ongoing Palestine issue, expressing surprise at the lack of widespread reaction. He invited all, including civil society members, to join him at the Governor’s House to light candles in solidarity with the Palestinians. As an additional step, awards were declined to three significant companies in protest against Israeli actions, emphasizing the intent to support the Palestinian cause. The Governor concluded with an appeal to the international community, urging for intervention to halt Israel’s actions in Palestine. This information was provided by the Secretary to Governor Sindh.
