Karachi, The Governor of Sindh, Kamran Khan Tesuri, hosted the second public Iftar at the Governor’s House, emphasizing direct engagement with the citizens and addressing their concerns during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to Sindh Governor House, Governor Tesuri took the opportunity to interact personally with attendees, listening to their issues and expressing his commitment to public service. He articulated his gratitude for the chance to assist and connect with the populace during Ramadan, underscoring the administration’s openness and responsiveness to public needs.

The Governor highlighted his dedication to aiding those particularly troubled by current affairs, extending a heartfelt invitation to seek guidance and support at the Governor’s House. Furthermore, he commented on the transient nature of official roles, emphasizing his resolve to make the most of his tenure in aiding and advancing the welfare of the Sindh community.

Peshawar, In a significant development for public health in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Health Minister Syed Qasim Ali Shah announced the full restoration of free treatment facilities under the Sehat Card Plus program across the province, marking a crucial step toward enhanced medical access for residents.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Health Minister, during a press briefing, detailed the Sehat Card’s evolution from its initial launch in four districts in 2015 to its province-wide expansion in 2020, which then necessitated an annual budget of 18 billion rupees. Accompanied by the Chief Executive of the Health Facilitation Program Dr. Riaz Tanoli and Program Director Dr. Ijaz, Minister Shah revealed that the program’s reinstatement has facilitated the commencement of free treatments for 1,800 different ailments at 118 designated public and private hospitals.

Highlighting the financial implications and operational logistics, Minister Shah disclosed that already one crore rupees had been utilized for treating 700 patients by noon on the reported Tuesday. This initiative reflects the original vision of PTI founder Imran Khan and embodies a commitment to sustainable healthcare, allocating a monthly average expenditure of three billion rupees.

The government’s proactive measures include a 5 billion rupee release to the associated insurance company, ensuring the reactivation of Sehat Card service counters in hospitals and adapting to challenges posed by the caretaker government’s tenure extension. While some treatments have been designated exclusively for public hospitals to curb overbilling, the selection of healthcare providers has been refined from 180 to 118 institutions to optimize service delivery.

This restoration not only signifies a stride toward fulfilling a foundational PTI pledge but also underscores Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s dedication to navigating fiscal and administrative hurdles to prioritize its citizens’ health and well-being.
