Beijing, In a recent statement, the Chinese Ministry of National Defense has categorically dismissed India’s jurisdiction over Arunachal Pradesh, labeling the region as the southern part of Xizang (Tibet) and an “inherent part of China’s territory.” This declaration comes amidst reports of India enhancing its military presence in the region, including the construction of the Sela Tunnel and the deployment of an additional 10,000 soldiers at the border.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Ministry spokesperson Zhang Xiaogang expressed China’s staunch opposition to what it perceives as India’s illegal establishment of Arunachal Pradesh. The remarks were made in the context of recent Indian military activities aimed at bolstering its readiness along the contested China-India border. Despite these developments, Zhang noted that the border situation remains generally stable, thanks to ongoing diplomatic and military dialogues between the two nations.

However, Zhang criticized the Indian actions as undermining the bilateral efforts to de-escalate tensions, arguing that such measures are detrimental to the peace and tranquility of the border areas. He called on India to refrain from complicating the border dispute further and to commit sincerely to the maintenance of peace and stability in the region. Highlighting the Chinese military’s vigilance, Zhang reaffirmed China’s dedication to safeguarding its national sovereignty and territorial integrity against any infringements.
