Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori has officially signed the Sindh Urban Immovable Property Tax Amendment Bill 2024, introducing new tax provisions for properties in cantonment areas.
According to Sindh Governor House, with the enactment of this bill, 2 percent of the Sindh Urban Immovable Property Tax collected will now be allocated to cantonment boards, with the remaining revenue directed to the provincial government. This amendment is specifically designed to address the financial administration of cantonment areas within the urban tax framework.
The Sindh Urban Immovable Property Tax Amendment Bill 2024, which was previously passed by the Sindh Assembly, marks a significant shift in the tax structure and aims to streamline fiscal responsibilities between the provincial government and cantonment boards.
