Sindh Governor Announces Plan to Replace Stolen Motorcycles and Mobile Phones

Karachi, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesuri has announced an initiative to provide motorcycles to owners of bikes stolen in October, November, and December 2023. During a press conference at the Governor House, Governor Tesuri detailed the plan, which also includes replacing stolen mobile phones with touchscreen models, to alleviate the hardships faced by theft victims in Sindh, including Karachi.

According to Sindh Governor House, Zafar Abbas of JDC was present during the announcement. Governor Tesuri expressed empathy for those who have suffered losses, acknowledging their financial constraints and inability to afford replacements. He shared an instance of a young man who regularly visited a police station in hope of finding his stolen bike.

The Governor revealed that the initiative will provide reconditioned bikes, allowing for more people to be helped. The plan to give touchscreen mobile phones to victims who lost their phones is also part of this effort. Funding for this initiative is being supported by friends of the Governor, JDC, and Selani, without reliance on government funds.

So far, Zafar Abbas’s team has acquired 73 bikes from the market for this purpose, and they have also distributed rations to three lakh families, with a target to reach six lakh families by the end of the year. Additionally, Governor Tesuri mentioned plans to give Umrah tickets and prepare a large communal table during Ramadan if he remains in office.

Governor Tesuri emphasized that establishing peace and order is beyond his power, but helping people is within his capacity. He also addressed the job prospects for individuals taking IT courses, suggesting potential earnings of up to fifteen thousand dollars.

In the first phase of the initiative, 2000 bikes will be distributed, including to media personnel who have been victims of bike theft. Governor Tesuri also mentioned speaking to the IG Sindh about the firing of the Snoke Bureau Chief, seeking a resolution within a few days.

This initiative by the Sindh Governor reflects a commitment to directly address the needs of citizens affected by crime, offering practical assistance to improve their circumstances.
