Sindh Governor Announces IT Test Results, Plans Expansion of IT Education Across Province

Karachi: Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesuri revealed the outcomes of the IT test held in Hyderabad, during a press conference at the Governor’s House. The test, part of the Governor’s Initiative for IT education, saw 80,000 youths participate, with 54,000 passing and qualifying for further courses in cutting-edge fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Metaverse, and Web 3.

According to Sindh Governor House, Governor Tesuri highlighted that those who did not pass the initial test would be granted another opportunity to qualify. The initiative, which aims to expand IT education throughout Sindh, will soon open registrations for a similar test in Sukkur. “The scope of the IT courses will be spread throughout the province in a phased manner,” the Governor stated, expressing his vision to transform Sindh into a central hub for IT in the region.

The Governor also touched on the economic implications of this initiative, noting the significant earning potential for trained youths, who are currently making between $600 to $800 per month, with the prospect of increasing Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves significantly if scaled. He also mentioned upcoming collaborations, including a memorandum of understanding with Google to provide Google certification to every IT student.

Additionally, the Governor acknowledged the support from various philanthropists and organizations, including national hero Arshad Nadeem and the FPCCI, who have contributed resources like laptops to support IT education. He called for similar initiatives across other provinces, emphasizing the non-political nature of these courses aimed solely at national prosperity.

In response to queries about further economic developments, Governor Tesuri teased upcoming announcements related to substantial investments and foreign trade deals, including significant orders for rice exports to countries like Iran and Oman. He concluded by reiterating his commitment to strengthening Pakistan through education and economic development, urging continued support for such initiatives.
