Karachi: Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesori has emphasized the importance of fostering strong relations between Russia and Pakistan, particularly in light of the current economic climate. During a meeting with the Russian Ambassador, Albert Khorev, at the Governor’s House, Tesori highlighted Russia’s intent to demonstrate its commitment to friendship with Pakistan. The Russian Ambassador was accorded a guard of honour upon his arrival, and the meeting included the ceremonial unfurling of the national flag, attended by representatives from the Russian Consulate.
According to Sindh Governor House, the engagement provided an opportunity to explore avenues for cooperation. The discussions underscored the existing good relations between the two countries. Governor Tesori mentioned that the Russian Deputy Prime Minister had previously visited Pakistan, signaling ongoing diplomatic engagements. He also extended an invitation to the Russian Ambassador to consider investing in the Sindh province.
The meeting was marked by cultural exchanges as the Russian Ambassador was introduced to local delicacies such as Karachi’s famous burger and matka chai. A visit to the Quaid-e-Azam Gallery was part of the itinerary, highlighting historical ties. In a gesture of goodwill, Governor Tesori presented traditional gifts of a cap and shawl to the Russian Ambassador and Consul General. Additionally, the Russian Ambassador participated in a tree planting campaign by planting a sapling in the Governor House premises.
