KARACHI: On the International Day of Action for Women’s Health, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to advancing women’s health initiatives across Sindh.
In his statement, Mr. Shah stressed the importance of acknowledging the health challenges faced by women and urged for sustained action to tackle these issues. He noted that a healthy woman is crucial to the well-being of society.
The Chief Minister detailed several ongoing government programs targeting women’s health needs. He mentioned a comprehensive maternal and child health initiative aimed at safeguarding mothers and newborns through essential healthcare services provided throughout the province.
To enhance accessibility, Mr. Shah highlighted the deployment of 23,185 Lady Health Workers in Sindh, tasked with delivering healthcare services directly to women’s homes. Additionally, he praised the “National Health Support Programme,” conducted in partnership with the World Bank, which aims to improve care for pregnant women, mothers, and newborns.
Concluding his message, the Chief Minister underscored the significance of the Sindh government’s efforts in promoting women’s health and reiterated a commitment to prioritizing women’s health and empowerment to foster a healthier society.
