Sindh Government to Begin Distribution of Solar Panels in August

Karachi: Syed Nasirsin Shah, the Provincial Energy Minister, announced that the Sindh government will commence the distribution of solar panels this month, aiming to provide affordable electricity across the province. This initiative, supported by the World Bank, involves collaboration with various NGOs and is directed by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto to ensure transparency and efficiency.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Sindh, Minister Shah presided over a meeting with senior officials from the Energy Department and heads of NGOs to expedite the solar panel supply process. Participants included Secretary Energy Mossadegh Ahmed Khan, CEO of SPHF Khalid Sheikh, and Director of the Sindh Solar Energy Project Mahfouz Qazi. The meeting focused on the logistics of the solar panel distribution, which is part of a broader effort to provide free and cost-effective electricity to the people of Sindh, especially given the current challenges with expensive electricity rates.
