Sindh Expands E-Stamping System Under CM Murad Shah’s Digital Governance Initiative


KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah is spearheading a significant expansion of the e-Stamping system as part of a broader digital governance initiative aimed at enhancing transparency and efficiency in the province. The initiative, which has already processed 730,000 challans and collected Rs12.8 billion, seeks to eliminate irregularities in government documentation and simplify services for citizens.



According to Chief Minister Sindh, the signing ceremony for the e-Stamping system was held at CM House and marked the formal agreement between the Board of Revenue Sindh and the Sindh Information Technology Company (SITC) for the continued rollout and enhancement of the platform. The event was attended by key provincial ministers, senior officials, and stakeholders from various departments. The e-Stamping system is part of a strategic push to modernize governance in Sindh, allowing for digital documentation that eliminates fake stamp papers and reduces bureaucratic inefficiencies.



Chief Minister Shah emphasized the initiative’s role in fostering trust between the government and the citizens of Sindh, highlighting plans for a fully paperless system that will enable online generation of stamp documents. He underscored the necessity of such technological advancements in managing Sindh’s urban and economic dynamics effectively. The government is also exploring the use of artificial intelligence to provide digital assistance in multiple languages and is planning digital reforms in education and public administration sectors.



The initiative includes the launch of Sindh Pay, a unified digital payment platform, and the establishment of a provincial data center to secure government and citizen data. Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information Technology, Ali Rashid, and CEO SITC, Zainul Abdein Shah, briefed the chief minister on the progress and future roadmap of digital initiatives, which include the development of a comprehensive Sindh Citizen Super App and the establishment of a provincial government data center. The agreement signed during the ceremony is seen as a pivotal step toward a data-driven, technology-enabled governance framework in Sindh.
