Sindh CM Outlines Plans for Teacher Training, Student Data Bank, and Recruitment Initiatives

Karachi, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah emphasized the importance of improving school education during a meeting at CM House, focusing on training teachers and developing comprehensive data systems for students and faculty. The discussion included plans to rebuild flood-damaged schools and enhance educational facilities, reflecting a concerted effort to bolster the educational framework.

According to Chief Minister Sindh, “We are committed to improving the educational atmosphere in the classroom and keep making the teacher properly trained so that a well-educated new generation can be produced.” The meeting, attended by Minister of Education Syed Sardar Shah, Secretary of Education Zahid Abbasi, and other key officials, addressed the urgent need for reconstruction of 19,808 school buildings damaged by recent heavy floods. Despite these challenges, makeshift arrangements have allowed classes to continue.

Efforts to ensure teacher attendance through biometric systems were highlighted, alongside initiatives to enhance teaching and communication skills through robust training programs. The Chief Minister praised the merit-based recruitment of teachers and directed the development of a detailed database tracking teacher appointments, transfers, and promotions to facilitate the advancement of dedicated educators.

The discussion also covered the establishment of a student data bank from pre-primary through higher secondary levels, aiming to provide accurate information to support educational incentives and reduce dropout rates. Plans for filling 30,000 vacant teaching positions were discussed, with a focus on incorporating these needs into the upcoming budget.

Additionally, the meeting outlined improvements for existing educational facilities, including upgrades to science labs, libraries, and workshops in high schools, with regular inspections by District Education Officers (DEOs) to ensure quality.
