Sindh Chief Minister Inaugurates Vocational Training Centre for Persons with Disabilities in Karachi

Karachi, In a move to enhance vocational training opportunities for persons with disabilities, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated the Vocational Training Centre for Persons with Disabilities, Ancholi, at a ceremony held in the conference room of CM House.

According to Chief Minister Sindh, the ceremony was marked by the unveiling of a plaque by Ali Ansar, a differently-abled individual, symbolizing the commitment to inclusivity in vocational education. The event was attended by provincial secretaries, notables, and heads of various non-governmental organizations dedicated to supporting persons with disabilities.

The newly inaugurated center has enrolled 240 students, including 120 girls, providing them with training in diverse vocational skills. The courses offered include computer science, tailoring, beautification, and mobile repair. Among these, 60 students are participating in the computer science program, 72 in tailoring, 48 in beautification, and 60 in mobile repair.

Chief Minister Shah, emphasizing the importance of the initiative, directed the Secretary of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD) to ensure the effective operation of the center. He also pledged to provide additional facilities and equipment as needed to support the training programs.

The Vocational Training Centre for Persons with Disabilities, Ancholi is part of a broader effort by the Sindh government to foster an inclusive environment where individuals with disabilities can gain practical skills and enhance their employment prospects.
