Sindh Chief Minister Conducts Unannounced Inspection at Secretariat, Demands Accountability for Absenteeism


KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah conducted an unannounced visit to the Sindh Secretariat and Tughluq House, focusing on departmental inspections, renovation progress, and staff attendance.



According to Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah initiated his visit at the New Secretariat, where Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah was in attendance. The chief minister evaluated the under-construction Command and Control Centre on the Ground Floor, ordering the integration of modern systems and technologies. He then proceeded to Tughluq House, scrutinizing the offices of multiple departments, including School Education, Home, Excise and Taxation, Mines and Minerals, Chief Minister’s Inspection Team, and Planning and Development (Pand D), to ensure the presence of secretaries and senior officials.



During his inspection, Murad Ali Shah directed the chief secretary to obtain explanations from secretaries who were absent from their duties. He also assessed the ongoing renovation work at Tughluq House, urging its prompt completion. Emphasizing the importance of staff attendance, the chief minister instructed that all departments must maintain efficiency to address public concerns and deliver adequate services. He stressed the importance of punctuality and commitment among staff members, pointing out that the reduced number of employees should not excuse absenteeism.
