Sindh Chief Minister Conducts Surprise Inspections in Karachi


Karachi, In an unannounced move, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah conducted a series of surprise visits across various low-lying areas of Karachi on Friday morning to oversee the operational readiness of water drainage systems and to assess the attendance of officers at the New Secretariat.



According to Chief Minister Sindh, during his inspection tour, the Chief Minister observed critical areas in the South District, including underpasses and major roads like Khaliq-ul-Zaman Road and II Chandrigar Road. He found that the necessary water board machinery and suction equipment were missing in some locations. As a result, he instructed the Commissioner of Karachi to ensure the immediate installation of the required machinery and to provide a prompt report on the action taken.



Furthermore, the Chief Minister’s visit to the New Secretariat revealed the absence of several secretaries from their offices as early as 9:30 am. In response, he directed the Chief Secretary, Dr. Fakhar Alam, who received him upon arrival, to guarantee full attendance of the secretaries. Emphasizing the importance of punctuality and responsibility, the Chief Minister called for directives to be issued to all department secretaries to arrive at their offices on time, setting an example for other staff members.
