Karachi, In a significant move towards inclusivity, Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice (Retd) Maqbool Baqar has reaffirmed his dedication to ensuring access to quality education for all, regardless of ability.
According to Chief Minister Sindh, Justice Baqar made these remarks during a ceremony at the Boys Scout Ground, near the Arts Council in Karachi, where he handed over 23 Toyota vans to the Government Special Education and Rehabilitation Centers across the province. These centers operate under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh.
The Chief Minister emphasized that these vans symbolize more than just transportation; they represent a commitment to improving accessibility for differently-abled students. The initiative aims to provide pick-up and drop-off facilities to these students, enhancing their ability to attend special education and rehabilitation centers.
Justice Baqar highlighted the Sindh government’s ongoing focus on the empowerment of persons with disabilities. By facilitating transportation, the Chief Minister expressed his desire to make education more accessible to every citizen of the province, thereby bridging the gap in educational opportunities.
He commended the DEPD for its hard work and dedication in pursuing the vision of an inclusive society in Sindh. Concluding his address, Justice Baqar called for continued efforts to build a society where everyone has the opportunity and right to learn, grow, and contribute to the nation’s progress.
