Sindh Chief Minister Allocates Rs133.5 Million Grant to 28 Bar Associations

Karachi, In a significant move to support the legal community, Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice Maqbool Baqar has granted a total of Rs133.5 million to 28 Bar associations across the province. This decision was made during a meeting where the Chief Minister interacted with the leaders of these associations.

According to Chief Minister Sindh, the meeting included the presence of caretaker Law Minister Omar Soomro, Information Minister Ahmad Shah, Special Assistant to CM Advocate Moiz Baig, Secretary Law Ali Ahmad Baloch, and representatives from various high court and district bar associations. During the gathering, Justice Baqar listened to the concerns raised by the lawyers and acknowledged their crucial role in upholding the law and constitution.

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of the legal fraternity maintaining strong ties with other societal segments, particularly legislators, and their role in supporting marginalized communities. He also stressed the caretaker government’s commitment to ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections.

Financial support was distributed in the form of cheques, with Rs10 million each allotted to the High Court bar associations of Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Larkana. The Karachi Bar Association received Rs20 million, while district bar associations of Hyderabad and Sukkur were given Rs10 million each. Other associations, including Malir, Nawabshah, Khairpur, and several others, received varying amounts, addressing their specific needs.

Additionally, a Rs2 million cheque was provided to the Taluka Bar Association Bhirya of District Naushehroferoze. The office bearers of the associations expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his support and commitment to resolving issues faced by the legal community.

This grant is seen as a step towards strengthening the legal system in Sindh by supporting the entities that play a vital role in the administration of justice.
