Sindh Adviser Distributes Fishing Supplies to Support Local Fishermen

Karachi: In a community-focused initiative, Syed Najmi Alam, Provincial Adviser to the Chief Minister Sindh on Livestock and Fisheries, provided essential fishing supplies to registered fishermen in an effort to enhance their operational capabilities and livelihood.

According to Chief Minister Sindh, “The distribution event took place at Somar Goth in Hawke’s Bay, Karachi, where 180 fishing nets and 145 ice boxes were handed out to the local fishermen.” The event was attended by notable figures including MPA Liaquat Askani, Town Chairman Humayun Khan, and several local leaders along with Director General Fisheries Dr. Ali Muhammad Mastoi and Director Marine Fisheries Dr. Asim Karim.

Syed Najmi Alam highlighted the ongoing commitment to the fishermen, mentioning that it has been over 20 years since such focused attention was given to the fishing communities of the mentioned localities. He affirmed the continuation of efforts under the vision of Bilawal Bhutto to extend such beneficial initiatives to fishermen across Sindh. Alam also announced forthcoming plans to officially recognize fishermen as workers, thereby granting them access to full labor-related facilities.
