Sikh Pilgrims from India Gather in Lahore for Jor Mela Festival

Lahore, Over 800 Sikh pilgrims from India crossed into Lahore today to participate in Jor Mela, a significant three-day event commemorating the death anniversary of Guru Arjan Dev, the fifth Sikh guru.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the festival is scheduled to begin on June 15 at Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore. The pilgrims were received at the Wagah border by notable figures including the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee president, Punjab Minorities Minister Ramesh Singh Arora, and senior officers from the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB). Ghulam Mohayuddin, an ETPB officer, shared details of the warm welcome extended to the visitors.

The visiting pilgrims, led by Gurbachan Singh, expressed profound happiness and a deep sense of connection to their spiritual heritage. “We will have the darshan of our Guru’s land. I feel very happy,” Singh remarked, highlighting the emotional and religious significance of the visit.
