Sikh Community Protests Outside Indian Embassy in U.S.

Washington, Members of the Sikh community staged a demonstration outside the Indian Embassy in the United States, drawing participants from multiple U.S. states.

According to a news release by Kashmir Media Service, participants of the demonstration voiced their support for Khalistan and vocalized their grievances against India. They implored the U.S. to leverage its influence on the Modi-led Indian government, urging a halt to what they perceive as injustices against Sikhs in India. Furthermore, they advocated for U.S. backing in their pursuit of an autonomous Sikh state, known as “Khalistan.”

Among their appeals, demonstrators sought justice on behalf of the relatives of Hardeep Singh Nagar, a pro-Khalistan leader who met a tragic end in Canada.
