Sibi Officials Review Security and Logistics for Upcoming By-Election

Sibi: In preparation for the forthcoming by-election for the vacant Sibi Kim Lehri seat, Deputy Commissioner Sibi Jahanzeb Sheikh chaired a high-level meeting to ensure a secure and orderly electoral process. The assembly focused on critical aspects such as the peaceful conduct of the elections, along with comprehensive security arrangements and logistics planning.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting drew participation from key district and law enforcement officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioner General Ali Asghar Magsi, Assistant Commissioners Mansoor Ali Shah and Liaquat Ali Jatoi, SPBC Ibrahim Bugti, DSP Special Branch Pir Bakhsh Selachi, among others. The group thoroughly reviewed the mechanisms for the safe handling and delivery of election materials, including ballot papers.

Deputy Commissioner Sheikh, who also serves as the District Returning Officer, emphasized the necessity of a detailed security strategy to cover all phases of the election process. This includes the protection of presiding officers during the transport of polling bags, safeguarding the movement of election materials, and ensuring security at polling stations through the voting and counting phases, up to the secure collection of records at the returning officers’ offices.

The comprehensive measures aim to maintain the integrity and safety of the electoral process, ensuring that all participants and officials are safeguarded throughout the by-election.
