Sibi Health Campaign Focuses on Mother and Child Health, Vaccinations

Sibi: A significant awareness campaign focusing on mother and child health has been launched in the Sibi district, orchestrated by the District Health Officer, Dr. Muhammad Akbar Solangi. The campaign, which started on September 23, includes a series of community sessions led by lady health workers across the district, aimed at improving health practices and ensuring widespread vaccinations among children.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the campaign features the participation of key local health figures including EPI Monitoring Officer Shoaib Ahmed Khajak, District Support Officer of the Lady Health Worker Program Miss Bano Arbab, and District Nutrition Coordinator Haji Baloch. A large number of lady health workers are actively engaging in this initiative, which will continue until September 28.

During this period, lady health workers are tasked with conducting educational community sessions in their respective areas, focusing on crucial aspects of mother and child health. Dr. Solangi has also mandated that all vaccinators in the district should continue to administer vaccinations to children from birth to 2 years old throughout the campaign. Additionally, lady health workers have been instructed to provide medications for stomach worms to children aged 2 to 5 years, and to compile lists of children who have missed their initial vaccinations or any subsequent ones. These lists will be used to ensure that all children are reached and vaccinated.

The campaign also emphasizes the importance of community cooperation with health workers and vaccinators to ensure no child in the district misses out on vaccinations. The local population has been urged to support this health initiative to achieve comprehensive coverage and enhance the overall well-being of children in Sibi.
